WHAT IS THE MARYLAND BIT AFFINITY?
Established in 2009The Maryland (MD) Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) Affinity group was formed in 2009 to establish an avenue for the community colleges in Maryland to provide ongoing training, collaboration, and reevaluation of best practices for responding to concerning incidents that occur on campus.
The Affinity group meets on a regular basis each academic year to provide all community colleges in Maryland with access to expert training and shared best practices. Since 2018, the MD BIT Affinity has welcomed greater participation from colleagues at four-year colleges and universities across the state of Maryland engaged in similar work. Meeting locations rotate as each institution volunteers to host. For those that are unable to travel, video conferencing is also available. |
